Day 1. Madrid / Barcelona - Rovaniemi - Ruka
At the indicated time, presentation at the airport with the assistance of our staff for the billing of the direct flight to Rovaniemi (Finland). Start your trip to Lapland here! Direct flight times (local times): Barcelona – Rovaniemi 11:00 – 16:50 Madrid – Rovaniemi 09:00 - 15:00 Lunch on board with drinks included. Upon our arrival at our destination we will meet our guide (if we have not previously had it at the airport of origin) and we will transfer to our private cabin, which is located approximately 200 km away. From the airport. The cabins are located in an enclave of nature, in the Ruka Village Ski Resort area, one of the best alpine ski resorts in Finland, located in the northwest of Finland, on the edge of the imaginary line of the Arctic Circle. The ski resort has a total of 169.5 skiable km of cross-country skiing, 33.5 km of which are illuminated, as well as 34 alpine ski slopes, most of which are also illuminated. A unique location surrounded by three National Parks: Oulanka National Park (with its famous trekking "The Bear's Trail", Riisitunturi National Park and Julma Ölkky. Accommodation in unique wooden cabins. Each cabin is surrounded by nature in an ideal location that allows you to see the northern lights that occur in the area. In the cabin we will find the thermal suits of our size that we can use during our entire stay in Lapland. The selected cabins correspond to the best level of accommodation that exists in the area, although there is no official categorization in the destination to catalog them. Each and every one of the cabins are independent, close to others, but maintaining privacy and fully equipped. Dinner will take place at a restaurant in Ruka with transfers included. Accommodation.
Day 2. Ruka - Husky sledding
We have spent our first night in Lapland and after breakfast in our cabin, we will start the day with a fantastic activity. We will go to visit a husky dog farm to take an unforgettable walk through the snowy forest in a sled pulled by these charming animals and thus become true mushers. The transfer will be carried out by bus to the farm, where these docile friends will be waiting for us, eager to carry out their tour. Once the instructions on how to drive the sled have been given, we will get going: each adult participant will drive their own sled (2 people for each sled, who will alternate the driver's position). Quite an arctic adventure! We will discover many curiosities of our new friends with the explanations of our guide. When the time comes, during the safari we will make a stop to enjoy a light lunch that will remain in our memories. We will return to the cabin where we will have free time to relax doing a sauna until dinner time. Dinner will take place at a restaurant in Ruka with transfers included. After dinner, we return to our accommodation to rest... but we must be vigilant in case the northern lights appear. You can go for a walk near your cabin to try to spot one.
Day 3. Ruka - Visit to reindeer farm and meeting with Santa Claus
We continue to enjoy the destination and unique activities. Breakfast in our cabin. After breakfast in our cabins, we will be picked up to move to a reindeer farm where we will learn the details of these animals from their Lappish breeders. We will have the opportunity to take a sleigh ride pulled by a reindeer and learn about their way of life. We will enjoy a light lunch in a kota around the fire or at the reindeer farm. We will return to Ruka with time to rest, relax and prepare for the time that the little ones are waiting for. We will move to the secret house of Santa Claus that is located in the vicinity of Ruka. Santa's house in Lapland is in front of a lake with incredible winter views. It has an area with slides on the snow where children enjoy while Santa Claus awaits us in his cozy house with Mrs. Claus to meet him in person and have an unforgettable time. In addition to having a good time with them, afterwards we will enjoy the dinner that they have prepared for us in their own home. With the indelible memory and all the magic of this visit, we said goodbye to Santa Claus and started the short trip back to our cabin. Accommodation.
Day 4. Ruka - Snowmobile Safari
After breakfast in our cabin, we will transfer to the local safari house where we will equip ourselves with helmets, gloves and balaclavas to start the snowmobile safari. After the instructions of our guides to enjoy the experience in a safe way, we will start the adventure. Adults drive the snowmobile (2 people per snowmobile ) and children ride in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile. We will contemplate the most bucolic landscapes during our journey, feeling the power of these machines in contrast to the silence of the snowy forest. We will have a light lunch in a kota around the fire. The kotas are the typical tents of the Sami (Lapps) similar to the teepees of the American Indians. After lunch, we will return to our cabin to relax. Free afternoon. We will be able to take the opportunity to ski in the RUKA alpine ski resort. At this station, both the ski lift ticket and the ski equipment can be purchased by the hour (from 3 hours to several days) and in a couple of hours you can enjoy many descents as there are usually no queues for the lifts. Normally, Ruka tends to have its slopes open from October to the middle or end of May and many of them are illuminated. Our local guide at the destination will advise us on schedules, ski pass prices, rental equipment and other details. Free dinner. Accommodation.
Day 5 - Ruka - Rovaniemi (Santa Claus Village) - Madrid / Barcelona
Last day in Lappish lands. After enjoying breakfast in our own cabin, we will head back to Rovaniemi. Arrival at Santa Claus Village, located just above the imaginary and magical line of the Arctic Circle, where we can visit its craft and souvenir shops, send a letter or postcard from the official Santa Claus Post Office and visit the different attractions who are part of this magical world. With this visit we will be able to put the finishing touch to this dream trip. Continuation to the airport, located less than 3 km from the Santa Claus Village. Billing procedures for our direct flight to our city of origin. Direct flight times (local times): Rovaniemi – Barcelona 15.50 – 19.30 hrs. Rovaniemi – Madrid 16.00-20.05 hrs. During the flight we will enjoy a snack-dinner on board with a drink included. Arrival and end of the trip.
