December 30 - Barcelona I Errachidia I Erfoud
Meeting at the Barcelona airport with the team of entertainers who will accompany us throughout the trip. Departure from Barcelona on a special direct flight to Errachidia, in the south of Morocco. During the flight we will enjoy a snack on board and in a little less than two hours we will arrive at the Errachidia airport, the gateway to the Sahara desert, where a great welcome awaits us. Once they have taken care of our luggage, which will go directly to the hotel, we will leave with our entertainers in modern 4x4 jeeps in the direction of Erfoud. Located in the Ziz river valley, in the Tafilalet palm grove, Erfoud is a small city in the middle of the desert, at the gates of the Sahara. Here begins our adventure through the desert lands of southern Morocco. We will enjoy a snack in a natural viewpoint with impressive views of the palm grove of the Ziz Valley, where we will then descend with the jeeps to cross the town and see up close how the locals live throughout the green area on the banks of the river. We will continue our first adventure until we reach Erfoud. We will arrive at our hotel, which will impress us. The hotel is located outside the urban center and is completely surrounded by adobe walls. It looks like a gigantic movie set. In fact, scenes from a number of films have been filmed there and some of the most famous film artists have stayed there. While the parents take possession of the rooms, the animators will stay with the children in a hotel room and show them the facilities. Dinner and overnight at the impressive Kasbah Xaluca hotel in Erfoud.
December 31 - Erfoud - Merzouga
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Our adventure begins today leaving the hotel in our powerful SUVs to enjoy a tour of the area in which we will visit movie landscapes, sultans' palaces, infinite palm groves, markets and imposing dunes. We will start by visiting the typical local market of Rissani, where we will be surprised by its authenticity and it is that we will hardly come across any other tourist during our visit and... we will be impressed by how the locals still practice barter and its animal market, as well as the parking lot donkeys. We will continue to the natural viewpoint "Jbel Mdouar" (Round Mountain) a place that has been the setting for films such as The Mummy, Sahara, Babel, Hidalgo, and where the largest explosion in film history was made with the movie SPECTER (James Bond 007). Here we will have the most spectacular outdoor lunch that one can imagine. We will enjoy incredible views to contemplate the vastness of the desert until we get tired of taking photos and videos. After lunch, we will go to the hotel. Arriving at the Kasbah Tombouctou hotel, the little ones will be able to enjoy games and activities with the entertainers, during which they will discover the Berber culture and many surprising things about the desert. Meanwhile, older people can enjoy the hotel facilities or relax with a drink at the bar with fantastic views of the dunes. New Year's Eve dinner at the hotel. Our second day ends in the lands of southern Morocco. What will this adventure bring us?
January 1 - Merzouga I Erg Chebbi
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Today will be a day of total desert! Our adventure begins as soon as we leave the hotel in our jeeps along the tracks that some rallies cover today, such as the famous Merzouga Rally and previously the most famous Rally of all time, the Paris-Dakar Rally, until we reach the fossil quarries where we will be able to find, with our own hands, different types of fossils of more than 300 million years. We continue crossing dunes until we reach an oasis in the middle of the desert where we will enjoy lunch. It will seem incredible to us to be able to enjoy such rich and varied food in such a place. We will be able to rest and regain strength for the adventure that remains for us today, which is incredible. We continue our way to the great Erg Chebbi (Dune Desert), of fine sand where we will meet a group of locals who will take us along with their dromedaries through the desert dunes. We will enter the dunes and we will see how the sun goes down as we go. During this tour we are going to try to find the camp of three Wise Men. They usually camp here every year on their journey from the Orient to Europe. Surely with the help of our guides and entertainers we will find the camp. the Three Wise Men and we will be able to spend some time with them, take photos and deliver the letter with our wishes and receive a first gift. It will be a unique and special moment, not only for the little ones, but for all members of the family! Arrival at the haimas camp, where we will spend the night as authentic nomads in the middle of the desert, with the advantage that our haimas have all the comforts, with private bathrooms with showers, etc. Then, before experiencing the sensation of sleeping in a haima in the middle of the desert under one of the most starry skies on the planet, we will enjoy an authentic and abundant dinner in the purest local style.
January 2 - Erfoud
We recommend getting up early and climbing one of the nearby dunes to admire the sunrise and see the colors that the sun leaves on the sand. Buffet breakfast at the camp. Our adventure begins today leaving the camp in our Jeeps towards the abandoned village of Merdani, made famous by the M'Fis mines. These open pit mines with holes or trenches drilled into the rock are still in operation and miners go down into shafts up to 50 meters deep. The town was abandoned when mining ceased to be profitable. From there we will continue to Khamlia to meet its inhabitants, originally from sub-Saharan Africa, specifically from Mali, the majority, with whom we will share tea and liven up those moments with some local music. We will learn more about their customs and see the local school. We will enjoy lunch in the town of Erfoud, in the coolest pizzeria in the city, but do not think that "man lives only on pizza" because we have prepared a most complete and varied lunch, where pizza will obviously not be missing local style. In the afternoon we will return to the hotel where there will still be time for the youngest members of the family to enjoy games and activities with the entertainers, adults can enjoy the facilities such as the heated pool with its large jacuzzi, the tennis court and paddle tennis, mini golf or optionally a good Hammam (Turkish bath) and one of the types of massages provided by the SPA. The most intrepid will have the opportunity to organize a quad ride with a monitor guide through the dunes of the hotel area. Dinner at the hotel.
January 3 - Erfoud I Errachidia I Barcelona
After several days of adventure we deserve to be able to get up calmly. Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today we will have free time at the hotel to bathe in the pool, play paddle tennis, organize a mini soccer game among the children or have fun in the different hotel facilities. Lunch. After it we will leave in the direction of return to the Errachidia airport. We will say goodbye to our SUV and the driver who has accompanied us and we will take the flight back to Barcelona where we will arrive after a two-hour flight. We will enjoy a snack on board before landing in Barcelona.
Morocco is an ancient country, heir to centuries of tradition. However, in the Kingdom there is nothing fixed. Their culture is alive and is embodied day after day by small daily gestures, festivals, rituals and customs. Stay there for a while and soak up its peace and its art of living. The best thing is that you walk through the cities and towns, among the narrow streets of their old quarters. This way you will be very close to people and you will be able to do exchanges with them. Surely some Moroccan invites you to share a green tea with mint: everything is ceremonious there and hospitality reigns supreme. You can also discover a whole series of customs. Morocco and its inhabitants evolve to the rhythm of the Mediterranean art of living recognized by UNESCO, a set of practices, dishes or symbols that are part of their daily lives and that you will love.
