Muotka is Lapland

An unforgettable escape to Lapland: untouched nature, Arctic adventure, and Christmas magic. Staying at Wilderness Hotel Muotka means immersing yourself in the most authentic corner of Lapland. Surrounded by snowy forests and with up to 200 nights of Northern Lights each year, this journey offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience: snowmobile safaris, husky sledding, reindeer farms, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and a private meeting with Santa Claus.

Approximate price per family:
6640 $

Wilderness Hotel Muotka is located in the midst of nature, near Saariselkä, in a privileged natural setting surrounded by the untouched wilderness of Lapland. Its low light pollution enhances the possibility of witnessing the Northern Lights, which are said to appear on around 200 nights per year. Let's hope we're lucky during our stay... It's a perfect place for exploring on snowmobiles, husky sleds, snowshoes, skiing... or simply relaxing in the sauna.

Day 1. Seville / Ivalo / Muotka

Airport check-in. Meet with Catai staff who will assist you with the simple check-in procedures. Departure on a special direct flight to Ivalo. Snack on board included. Meet your guide and transfer to Muotka (approx. 35 min). Arrival. Upon arrival, you will collect the thermal equipment that you can use throughout your stay in Lapland. Once settled, we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 2. Muotka. Reindeer Farm, Cross-Country Skiing, and Northern Lights

Buffet breakfast. We will begin our Lapland adventure with a visit to a reindeer farm. Upon arrival at the farm, the Sámi herder will welcome us. We will have the opportunity to feed the reindeer and see the newborn calves that are born around May. We will conclude the visit with a sleigh ride. Each sleigh is pulled by a single reindeer, and each reindeer has its own name. This sleigh ride is ideal for enjoying the snowy landscape. Return to the hotel where we will enjoy a delicious lunch before engaging in one of the most common activities in Lapland. In the afternoon, we will have an excursion to the cross-country skiing tracks. Cross-country skiing is very easy to learn, even for those who have never tried it before. We will enjoy the snow and practice this activity with qualified instructors. Return to the hotel and free time to rest before dinner at the resort's restaurant. Comfortably seated on the sleighs pulled by the guides' snowmobiles, we will set out in search of the Northern Lights. We will arrive at a camp where there is a cozy hut with a fire to keep us warm. During the wait, we will have a hot drink. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 3. Muotka. Husky Sled Ride and Snowshoeing

Buffet breakfast. It's time to put on our thermal clothing again and enjoy an incredible day outdoors. In the morning, we will be transferred to a husky farm. After visiting the farm, it's time to start the husky sled ride. These friendly animals will be waiting for us, jumping and barking, ready to pull the sleds. In this ride, each adult will have the opportunity to drive their own sled (2 people per sled, taking turns as the driver: while one person drives, the other sits in the sled). These dogs resemble wolves, with their pointed ears, penetrating gaze, and pronounced snout. They can have one eye of each color. This is undoubtedly one of the best experiences to enjoy in Lapland. We will return to the hotel for lunch, and in the afternoon, we will continue with a fun activity that appeals to both adults and children. We will go snowshoeing, taking a leisurely walk to enjoy nature and observe the surroundings. Along the way, we may come across animal tracks and follow their trail. The rest of the afternoon is free, and you can enjoy games in the hotel's natural snow slide area. Dinner at the resort's restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 4. Muotka. Snowmobile Safari and Meeting with Santa Claus

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. We will start another wonderful day of adventures in Lapland with one of the most spectacular excursions we can experience: a snowmobile safari. We will begin with driving instructions (which are very easy as there are no gears) before enjoying the power of these machines. The children will ride in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile through the snowy forests and frozen lakes. We will return to the hotel for lunch. During your free time, we recommend taking a relaxing sauna. Sauna in Finland is a tradition, and although the Finns did not invent it, they have the highest number of saunas per capita, almost one sauna for every two inhabitants, and they are the most avid sauna-goers. And then the moment the little ones have been waiting for will arrive: the meeting with Santa Claus. Each family will have a private time with this beloved character, where they can chat, give him their letters, take photos with him, and show him everything they have learned during this trip. Each child will receive a gift from Santa. Dinner at the resort's restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 5. Muotka / Ivalo / Seville

Buffet breakfast. Free time until the designated transfer time. You can enjoy a relaxing sauna or have fun in the snow before our departure. Departure to Ivalo Airport. Check-in procedures and direct flight to Barcelona. Snack included on board. Arrival and end of our adventure in Lapland.

Snack a bordo incluido.

Snack a bordo incluido.
