Exclusive SantaClausinLapland© Itinerary: Discover the Magic of the Arctic
Day 1 (05/12/2025): Arrival at the Heart of Lapland
The adventure begins! Meet at Madrid airport, where Captain Aurora and the Catai staff will assist with check-in procedures. We'll take a direct flight to the magical snowy landscapes of Lapland. Upon arrival at Kuusamo airport, our local guide will greet us. After an approximately one-hour transfer, we’ll arrive at the charming Holiday Club Salla, our cozy base for the adventure. We’ll pick up thermal suits to wear throughout our stay. Later, we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at the Salla Tuvat restaurant to warm up and prepare for the magical days ahead.
Day 2 (06/12/2025): Snowmobile Safari and Spa
Breakfast. Today we’ll embark on one of the most spectacular excursions of the trip: a snowmobile safari. We’ll be provided with helmets and gloves, and after instructions from the guides, we’ll start our snowmobile ride. Adults will drive the snowmobiles (2 people per snowmobile), and the children will ride in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. During the journey, we’ll feel the power of these machines while enjoying the snowy forests and frozen lakes. We’ll ascend a hill for a stunning panoramic view of the area, where we’ll enjoy a warm drink to keep cozy. Light lunch at a restaurant. The afternoon is free, and we recommend relaxing at the hotel spa, with jacuzzis, four water jet pools, and saunas (entrance included). It’s a perfect time to unwind as the spa is open to both adults and children. Don’t forget to bring swimwear and flip-flops, though rentals are available if needed. Buffet dinner at the Salla Tuvat restaurant. Overnight stay.
Day 3 (07/12/2025): Husky Sledding Safari, Snowshoeing, and Ice Fishing
Breakfast. Get ready for another unforgettable day in nature. In the morning, we’ll go on an excursion that will stay in our memories forever—driving a husky-drawn sled like real mushers. The well-trained huskies can pull up to seven times their weight, and we’ll learn many fascinating facts about them from their trainers before the ride. Light lunch around a campfire in the forest. After lunch, we’ll enjoy a fun activity loved by both adults and children—a snowshoeing walk through the Lapland snow-covered forest. We’ll reach a lake where we’ll try our hand at ice fishing, learning how to drill a hole in the ice and test our luck with this traditional activity. Return to the hotel. Buffet dinner at the Salla Tuvat restaurant. Overnight stay.
Day 4 (08/12/2025): Reindeer Sledding, Mini Snowmobiles, and Meeting Santa Claus
Breakfast. Today is the day the children have been waiting for. We’ll begin with a transfer to a nearby reindeer farm, where the Lapland herders will explain the lifestyle of these beautiful animals before we take a reindeer sled ride. We’ll stop at the corral where the female reindeer (mostly pregnant in winter) are kept, and we’ll have the chance to feed these friendly creatures. Each sled is pulled by a single reindeer, and each reindeer has its own name. This ride is perfect for enjoying the snowy landscape, taking photos or videos, and capturing another magical moment of our Lapland adventure. Today’s lunch will be special, served in a traditional Sami kota (a teepee-like structure). And then, the moment everyone’s been waiting for! Each family will walk to a secret spot in the forest where Santa Claus will be waiting. Santa will greet each family privately, and you’ll have time to chat, take photos, and receive a gift from the most beloved figure of Lapland and Christmas. While waiting, children can enjoy activities, including driving small snowmobiles on a safe circuit. All children can participate, provided they weigh no more than 40 kg (approx.) and will receive their snowmobile driving license. Buffet dinner at the Salla Tuvat restaurant. Overnight stay.
Day 5 (09/12/2025): Farewell and Return Home
Breakfast. We’ll head to Ruka for some free time to do last-minute shopping or take part in an optional activity. Transfer to Kuusamo airport for check-in and departure on a direct flight to Madrid. Snack onboard included. Arrival and end of our Lapland adventure.
Optional: Ice Karting
We’ll head to an ice karting circuit for a unique experience—driving special karts designed for snow or ice. Driving the karts is easy, and the activity is open to anyone over 14 years old. Price for adults (14+): 90 EUR
*Prices valid for bookings made up to 30 days before departure, subject to availability. *A minimum of 10 people is required for the excursion.
